Product & Services
Optical frames are glasses that have clear lenses to which we can add your prescription - typically this would be single vision distance, single vision reading or varifocal.
Yes. We can be add your Prescription to our optical frames & sunglasses. We would need a copy of your current prescription, ideally less than 2 years old (if older we would recommend you have a new eye examination as its possible your prescription will have changed) and your pupil distance measurement. If you don’t have this, not to worry, we can take you through the very simple process we have to get this measurement. You can also visit our step-by-step guide here.
Yes, all our Sunglasses come with lenses that provide 100% UV protection.
Yes, it can, for example, if you have a very high reading, although much of this can be addressed by choosing an ultra-thin lens – our 1.74 lens would achieve this. Your pupil distance measurement can also have a bearing. If you’re unsure we would recommend a one-to-one consultation with our Practice Manager. This can be done by visiting the store or online by booking a consultation time via the website.
Yes, but only for Single Vision lenses for either reading or distance vision, or ready readers. If you require Varifocal lenses we recommend emailing at info@curryandpaxton.com or calling our Practice Manager on +44(0)207 033 4303 to discuss your needs.
This is the distance between your pupils, measured in millimetres. We need this measurement to correctly glaze the lenses to the shape of your frame and to ensure the lenses are properly set over your pupil. You can ask your optician for the measurement, or you can follow our simple step by step guide. Alternatively, you can stop by The Practice where we will happily measure this for you free of charge.
Yes. We do, of course, prefer to process and fit prescription lenses into our frames but you are able to have this done by any qualified dispensing optician local to where you are. However, should the frames be damaged in any way during the course of this process we’re unable to assume responsibility for them and it would be the responsibility of the dispensing optician to replace or repair the frames. This would invalidate the warranty we provide.
Yes. We are happy to update and fit new prescriptions into an existing pair of Curry & Paxton frames. Due to the wear and tear nature of using your frames, all frames subject to a reglaze will be inspected through a thorough quality control process where we assess the condition and structure of the frames to see whether they are in a condition to be used further.
Our eye examination services are currently suspended due to refurbishment, but we expect the service to be reinstated by the end of Summer. We are looking forward to welcoming you back then; please feel free to sign up to our newsletter to find out precisely when this will be happening.
It is estimated to take 2 - 14 working days for orders to be processed and completed subject to your lens requirements. During this time lenses will be created to the specific needs of the prescription you have provided. Additionally, store collections will enable a tailored adjustment and fitting to be conducted. Home deliveries may need to visit The Practice or a local optician to have adjustments made if visiting us in London is not an option. Orders placed online will receive their frames within the estimated delivery times, however this may be subject to change.
We offer both services; where you can either visit our practice and have a tailored adjustment and fitting conducted or we can conveniently post your order out to your desired address. Please note that tailored adjustments can only be made in the practice, for home deliveries you may need to locally source an optician to have adjustments made to your frames.
If you find that you spend a significant amount of time in front of high exposing light e.g. digital screens or you work in poorly or overly lit environments then quite possibly. BlueShield lenses, also referred to as computer glasses, prevent UV penetration through the lens which in turns prevents eye strain or over exposure to light reducing the chances of eye fatigue, migraines, and headaches. BlueShield (or referred to as computer lenses) lens protection allows the muscles behind the eye to withstand the full duration of the day instead of deteriorating in the earlier hours of the day. These are non-prescription lenses with UV protection (BLF) available for personalisation with every Curry & Paxton optical frame. Contact us for your personalised quote.
Yes! International prescriptions are perfectly fine, we are happy to use these, however we must request all prescriptions provided are to be signed and dated by the optometrist who conducted this test, along with the recall date of your most recent eye test. Prescriptions without these requirements cannot be used unfortunately. If you need further advice please feel free to contact us.
We advise you select a colour based on your complexion undertone. If you have a fair complexion neutral colours and earthly tones will work well. Consider champagne, honey, caramel, cream or go bold with red. If you have an olive or darker complexion, we believe you will carry heavier base and blended colours well. Tortoiseshell, piano black, grey or coffee brown are great choices. Ultimately, if you love a colour and it reflects your personality then we always encourage you to go for it!
Caring for your spectacles or sunglasses are very important so we have a wide range of after care services that range from tailored adjustments, personalised lenses, and reglazing – see our Services and Repairs page for more details. All our frames come with a cloth bag which doubles as a cleaning cloth so you can protect your frames whilst keeping your lenses clean all day.
As a guide our Prescription charges start at £80.00 for Single Vision lenses for reading or distance, and £180.00 for Varifocal lenses. Additional costs will then be dependent on the type of lenses you need e.g. thinner lenses for a higher reading, and choose for example if you would like tinted lenses or Photochromic. You can see the full range of lenses available on our Prescription pages.

You can contact us at info@curryandpaxton.com or arrange a consultation, in person or online via the website with our Practice Manager who will be able to explain the options available to you and what would best suit your needs.
